What Makes you Truly Beautiful as you Age

Beauty is defined by who you become, not how you look.

True beauty isn't something we lose as we age;
it's the light of God reflecting through a life
of faith.

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder; what one person finds attractive, another may not. While physical beauty inevitably fades, the beauty that lives within is timeless. Caring for your physical self is important, but you will never lose your inner glow if you prioritize your relationship with God.

Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit

Cultivating the fruit of the spirit is a daily journey. God grows us through the soil of our experiences.
He cultivates His fruit in the
soil of our experiences.
According to biblical understanding, inner beauty is grown through the "Fruit of the Spirit." As outlined in Galatians 5:22-23, these traits include love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These characteristics aren’t meant to make us perfect; rather, they draw us closer to the cross. We cannot manufacture these qualities on our own—they require God’s Spirit and our daily submission.

The Great Equalizer

While some are blessed with physical beauty, aging acts as a great equalizer. Eventually, the person we have become on the inside far outweighs our outward appearance. We cannot fake these spiritual traits; while they don’t replace our unique personalities, they do determine how we navigate life and treat others.

Walking in Grace, Not Perfection

Living a "Holy life" often invites scrutiny or accusations of hypocrisy from those who misunderstand your intent. However, we must remember that God is sovereign—only He can judge

Walking in the spirit means trust His direction, even when the path is new, and finding his light in every step.

the heart. While we cannot know a person’s motives, we must use discernment to judge actions. Assessing behavior isn't about hatred; it’s about making wise decisions for our own lives and staying accountable to God’s grace.

1. Submission and Obedience

The Bible states, "The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord." This "fear" isn’t about cowering; it is a reverent acknowledgment that God, not us, is in control of all things. You might wonder why submission matters if God

already knows the outcome. It matters because we have the freedom to choose. Some argue that choosing between God and destruction isn't true freedom, but real choice lies in whether we believe we know better than our Creator. In my experience, choosing our own way over His never leads to a victorious life.

2. Willingness to Grow

We are inherently limited, even when we pretend otherwise. Despite our talents and grit, we eventually hit a wall. True growth begins when we admit we don’t have all the answers. By asking the Lord to replace our limited perspective with His understanding, we find the path to a truly fulfilling life.

3. Living with Beauty and Love

"Beauty and love" are more than just nice words; they are practical choices. Real love is a decision—to choose kindness over hostility and to treat others as we wish to be treated. However, love also requires boundaries. I am learning to walk away from toxic situations where people refuse healing and respond only with hostility. We aren't called to endure toxicity indefinitely; sometimes, the most loving thing to do is tell the truth and move on.

Expressing Beauty Through Change

Beauty is an outward expression of God’s glory and life. How we manifest that beauty depends on our unique experiences, current situations, and spiritual gifts. For example, the Proverbs 31 woman was blessed with wealth and a husband of high reputation, giving her a specific platform to work from. However, her advantages don't make her situation "better" than yours—only different.

God calls and uses us exactly where we are. This was a hard lesson for me to learn, but I have decided to cultivate excellence in my own gifts. My goal is not just self-upliftment, but to honor God with what He has given me and to help others in a way that only I can.

Creativity as Light

To express beauty is to add creatively to the world. It is about bringing light, understanding, and even fun to a world that often feels harsh and dark. Ultimately, beauty is found in any form of expression that represents God’s creativity while offering hope and encouragement to those around you.

Now go be your own kind of Beautiful.....express HIM fully and wonderfully through your one and only life.
